The “Kubioki i Sosiady” Regional Ensemble from Bilsko is a group of enthusiasts and people who wish to preserve and uphold the traditions of the Sądeckie Lach region. The core of the ensemble is the Sromka family, known as the “Kubioki,” who were joined by their immediate family and neighbors - first those living right “next door,” and over time, those from slightly farther afield as well.
The group strives to present folklore in its natural form - without excessive stylization, but full of authenticity, vigor, and the Lach spirit. Its members pass down traditions from generation to generation, drawing knowledge from the oldest residents of the municipality and consulting archives and museum collections.
Despite having been active for only two years, the ensemble can boast numerous achievements, including: the Grand Prix at the Festival of Lach and Highlanders in Piwniczna (2024), the “Bronze Wand” at the Pogórze Wedding Festival (2025), the Grand Prix for best music at “Druzbacca” in Podegrodzie (2025), and first place at the National Festival of Folk Bands and Singers in Kazimierz Dolny on the Vistula River (2023).
